Its time to start this blog !
Who am I ?
I am a french freelance artist, working mostly in digital but learning slowly acrylics and oils. One day in 2021 I decided I wanted to draw things like the characters in DnD books and 5 years later here I am, still on my way toward this goals but having learnt tones of things, met amazing peoples and discovered new goals for my art !
I don't do freelance full time, by day I am a PhD student in geology. Which mean my art time are sometimes quite short but I always take the most of them ! I have a strong love for stones and fossils (surprising isn't it ?) and often include them in my art, especially now I unlocked the "draw animals" power !
My favorite themes to draw are badass women, dwarves, mountains and old and strange animals !
And as I said, my first language is french so sorry by advance if my English is a bit strange sometime, I want to share my love for art with you anyway !
What will I share here ?
A bit of everything linked to my art : process, background story around my work, goals, maybe studies and tip, I will see. I want this place to be a free place of expression for me, not constrained by regular posting or short format like social media. One things I will speak of a lot for sure is Stone Witches !
I started Stone Witches in 2023 as an illustration project where I explored ways to symbolically represent stones and their properties. It is also an opportunity for me, as a geologist, to share my knowledge of rocks and minerals. For each piece of art, I complement my existing knowledge with additional investigation and attempt to highlight interesting facts about the stones. In the end, each piece of art comes with some scientific vulgarization, briefly introducing each stone. Stone Witches is still ongoing, and I am now working on a second, more detailed volume. I am hoping to include 37 witches in this new volume.
